I mounted this rack a bit differently than most other people.I have a Stack-On/Sentinel 10 gun cabinet and wanted a pistol rack I could mount underneath the single shelf inside in order to save space. I've looked at many other options and none of them would work for me due to how the shelf was designed - the shelf is either too shallow or not thick enough or doesn't have any space behind it or the rack wanted to use space above the shelf. I wasn't happy with any of these options, until I stumbled upon this rack.I didn't want to use the rack in the same way as everyone else, mounting it on the door, because it would mean that every time the door is opened, the guns swing out and they get in the way while you're reaching in. I wanted to mount this horizontally underneath my shelf so that I could reach it and just pull the guns out, but the guns would fall out if it was mounted like that. So instead what I did is bent the mounting hole portion of the rack at around a 45 degree angle so that the guns would angle down into the rack and stay in there securely, while also fitting underneath the shelf perfectly.With it mounted like this, set as far back as the shelf will allow me, I could probably fit a typical pistol with a ~4.5" barrel before I'd have to bend the bracket at more of an angle.My only complaints are that the hardware it comes with is pretty terrible and that the bracket is pretty flimsy and appears to be bending even with one gun in the far left hole. It would have made a lot more sense for them to make the mounting bracket be in the middle of the three pistol holes, but I digress.Overall, the rack did what it wasn't meant to do and it does it pretty well.
