Just got it today and it fits amazing! I have an American bully and it's hard to find a good fitting coat for him. He is short with a wide chest. He is 70lbs. I ordered the 22" one. It has a little bit of over hang over the tail, wich I LOVE. Also, very easy on and off. Would HIGHLY recommend!My Great Dane is female and finding a coat has been hard. The description on this sounded like it would be good and extra adjustments could be made via front and belly straps. It came on the smallest setting which would be for a more stocky built dog, maybe a shepherd. Looks like it would be fine for my anitolian if he didn’t have full fur. For a female dane it doesn’t chinch up enough around the belly and I had to add holes to the front straps as tight as possible and it’s still not ideal. The coat looks sturdy and is comparable to a light horse blanket but not the heavy wool interior style blanket.This was too big in the shoulder for my petite but long/tall dog. I just fold the front pieces and added a notch in the latch. It's really cute and warm. We have one for our other dog too it has lasted 3 seasons, the velcro is starting to wear out though.This coat exceeds my expectations and was the perfect solution to my dog's needs. He has arthritis along his spine plus a neurological condition. His vet wanted him in a coat this winter to keep him extra warm. Everything else ended short of his tail and wouldn't cover his haunches. This coat is like a miniature horse blanket; just "what the doctor ordered." The front gussets at the leg give freedom of movement, plus it has full coverage of back and haunches. It's very easy to get on and off, with just a buckle at the chest and a wide velcro band around the stomach. Very well made, too, and is waterproof. He's been out in rain and snow and comes in totally dry underneath the coat. It also launders well. I can't say enough good about this coat!Edited to add: The size we ordered (17.5") is probably a size too large for most dogs his size (around 22 lb.), but we wanted as much coverage as possible. If the coat was just for protection from the weather, one size smaller would probably have worked. This fits well, though, because of its adjustability. Happy to report that the coat is holding up beautifully and is keeping his physical problems under control during this cold weather.These coats are the real deal. They are made of good, heavy materials that will keep your pooch fully covered, warm, and dry in any winter weather. They fit so we'll around the whole dog, from front to rump. They come down in the front to cover the whole front on the dog and have gussets that allow your dog to run with it on. The back of the coat is tailored to enclose the rump so that no drafts can enter there. These coats cost as much as pet store sweaters or less, but are far and above what you would get at a pet store. I wish I'd found these before I wasted so much money on lesser coats/sweaters.I purchased 2 of these for my lab/dalmatian mixes, who are 50 lbs each with muscle-y shoulders and a defined waist. I got 17.5s and they fit perfectly! So far, they've held up on 2 walks in the snow, and a little bit of wrestling. The velco is heavy duty, and I'm confident it will hold up. The construction overall is great. Do note that there is not a slit for the harness, but ours worked just fine overtop. The only thing I'm missing is that their belly is really exposed in these, so I may pair them up with a light fleece if it gets any colder than 25F.The blanket is fantastic - appears well-made, warm, and durable. When I ordered it, the sizing chart was a bit vague (seems to be better now). Some companies assume a "large" fits a Cocker Spaniel; this company assumes a large fits a Rottie, I guess. Anyway, when the dog coat arrived, it was massively big for my dog. And what I didn't pay attention to, was the 15-day deadline by the supplier, for returns so now I'm stuck with it. I guess I'll give it to my granddaughter for her Australian Shepherd - the medium I ordered should fit her just fine.Tatanka Cikala (Lakota for "Little Buffalo") was originally a foster potbelly piggy. But, we fell in love with each other. He goes outside in the yard, but tends to stay in the bedroom when it's cold. I got him this blanket thinking it'd fit. It barely does. LOL I should of bought the next size up for him. It's a super nice blanket, only wish they'd added a little more strap to attach to the belly. It is made for a dog- not a pet pig. I'd be willing to trade someone for a larger size... ;)nice jacket for cool weather. great price.great coatIt is a well fitting product and great value for money. Exactly what we wanted.
