NOTE: there seem to be several changes to the design and fabric of the raincoat over the years. The review I've posted corresponds to the photos currently (as of Dec 2015) up for the Shaynecoat for Women Black, but some earlier reviewers are clearly reviewing a different coat. I will try to post my own photos of the coat I am reviewing when I can. But please beware of comparing reviews over time, as people may not even be reviewing the same coat!This is indeed a "shayne" (beautiful) coat. I am a US women's size 8, I ordered a small, and (as many reviews indicated) it was easily large enough to have a heavy sweater under, which is all to the good as far as I'm concerned. It still looks very nice even with just indoors clothes under.It's held up to the moderate rain storms we've had so far this "winter" in NYC. Water beads on the surface and does not pass through in my experience. I could not live without this coat!The fabric seems to be some kind of woven polyester with a rubbery undercoat - the label claim that it is all polyester seems incredible to me. I'd deduct half a point if I could. But the end result works well, the seams are sealed with some kind of waterproof tape, so it all works out in the end.Please note that any fabric that is truly waterproof will hold in sweat in warm weather. I haven't worn this in hot rains, but I wouldn't be surprised if I felt humid: think about it. It's inevitable.And it is really attractive for what it is. I adore this raincoat and the only reason I would wear another is that I sometimes need more visibility than this gives me. It makes me a "shayne maidel" (a pretty girl, hah!) and at my age I'm happy for that.The rain coat I received does not look very much like the one in the picture. Yes, it's long and black and has a hood, but there are several differences. The one I received has seams going down the front on either side of the button placard. These seams are very puckered, and I don't think this will ever go away. The front button placard in the coat in the photo is covered with fabric, so you don't see the buttons. The one I received does not have the fabric over the buttons. The sleeves in the photo have a strap and a button. The sleeves on the one I received do not - they simply fold up to adjust the length. I have uploaded some photos of the coat I received. It seems to be waterproof, it's lightweight, and it has a pouch to put it in for travel. The fabric is not at all breathable, so when you wear it, you will most likely sweat, like wearing plastic. It feels plastic-like on the my arms, so I would want to wear something long sleeved under it. I normally wear a US size 10 or 12, but I ordered a Medium, based on the other reviewers comments. The medium size fits ok - more like a usual large. Aside from the obvious differences, the coat is more or less what I expected for this price. Is it stylish ? NO. I bought it to use when traveling overseas, and I think it will be ok for that.Before ordering, I read numerous reviews and I am glad I did. This coat is very big. I normally wear a medium and sometimes for overcoat even order a large. I ordered a small in this coat and it fits great. It met my expectations of what I was getting and I was not disappointed as I received what I expected. This is a great coat to whip out of your purse if you are suddenly caught in the rain as it happened to me a couple of times while travelling. It really is nothing more than a poncho with sleeves and pockets, but perfect for a rainy weather. It comes folded in a small travel bag, great for packing. I like it a lot.I do like this product a lot. But the material felt really cheap to me and It was a bit longer than I expected. The person modeling the jacket in the photo, it's not realistic because who wears heels on a rainy day? I certainly don't. I wear rain boots. I'm 5'5" and wearing this, the jacket ended up near my ankles, with probably an inch or so left to the ground. I'm a dog walker and I bought this so I don't have to carry an umbrella. While it does work & dries quickly, I wish the material was a tad better. I bought a small, but this was big! I normally wear a medium - large too! Also, depending on your area, I live in NYC, so when it rains it gets a bit windy. This jacket with a hoodie underneath is just enough warmth you're gonna ever need!As it happens, it was cloudy when I walked in the house with the first load of groceries, by the time I set them down and got my brand new raincoat out of the packaging, it was absolutely pouring. This coat is totally waterproof, which explains the 5 stars. I would have given it 4 stars otherwise for two reasons: 1) It is LONG--I am 5'2" and it comes to about 6" off the ground. 2) It does have a cinch waist, but it is button-up-the-front and there is no button directly at the waistline, so if you cinch the waist the center front pulls apart a little. Re the fit--I generally wear a small or size 6 and so ordered a small of this coat--it fits a tiny bit big, but will be good to wear a sweatshirt underneath. Would buy again.I wish it were in a better material, I would pay twice as much for this exact fit. It's long and easily cinched at the back waist so it does exactly what I need in style, fit and function. I sell luxury autos and I have looked for years for something that covers completely in the rain over dress pants and jackets. This would be perfect if it didn't feel and sound so cheap. I think I will keep it and apologize for the rattle as so far it is the best in function. Please don't accept this as an endorsement of the product, just that it does what I need until I find better. I even took a couple of company logo rain jackets to my tailor and could not explain in Korean that I wanted to use the xxx large to lengthen the one which fit. No such luck :(
