Even after reading the reviews and measuring my dog against the specs of this little jacket, I was surprised at how small it is. I have a cairn terrier mix (approximately 8 lbs) who I assumed would fit into this little coat. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Instead, it resembled a little cape on him and reached only down to the base of his ribs. He wasn't to thrilled with this, but as I had already removed the tags so he would be more comfortable with the garment, I was not able to return it.Overall, the quality was great, and he does love the softness of it. He actually uses is as sort of a comfort toy, bringing it into his kennel and curling up on it.I would recommend this product for someone with smallish dogs, but I would also advise to size up!Initially, I got the size small for my 11 pound mini poodle but it was too short so I gave it to my friend with a Chihuahua and it fits perfectly. It's made with sturdy construction and warm reversible fleece, solid blue on one side and plaid on the reverse. The velcro strap is easy to cinch around the belly and neck. There’s a hole in the back of the nech for access to the collar.Basically, the Small fits a chihuahua, but it’s way too small for a mini poodle.Bought the Large for my 17-kb shi tzu and it fits well (he's broad chested). He's pretty long so while it's a bit loose, the length is right. Very cute, warm enough for a crisp day/eve (but not for a winter day). Happy with the purchase and fair price for the quality.I have a Maltese who is a wiggle worm. Putting anything on him is very difficult but this fleece goes on very easily. I just wish it came with leash hook built in.This is a very nice jacket but buyer beware that it runs small. I ordered a medium for my Maltese because of the reviews I read. The size medium Is still too small. I kept it to give as a Christmas gift.It's NOT large. I guess compared to something for a miniature pup it could be considered large. But sure doesn't come close to fitting our large dog...more for something that weighs about 20lbs at most.Good coat just needs to be a little longer.I ordered this coat but got a pull-on christmas sweater. The sweated was pretty cute so I kept it, but definitely not what I ordered.
